Website cookies
The website and application source in this package do not intentionally set advertising or analytics cookies. No analytics provider, advertising network, newsletter widget or embedded social feed is included. The final hosting provider may use technical security mechanisms or cookies depending on its settings. That must be verified against the live deployment before launch.
Player storage
The player uses localStorage for application preferences and state and IndexedDB for larger local data such as cached content and artwork. These are browser storage mechanisms, not cookies. They are scoped to the origin from which the player is opened. A player opened on a hosted website has a different browser-storage area from a player opened on localhost.
Portable folders
If you explicitly connect a folder containing MUSIC, Data and Playlists and grant the browser permission, BLACKBOX can write compatible data to that folder. You can revoke permission using browser controls. Keep a separate backup; a USB drive can fail or be lost.
How to clear or move data
Use the in-app Everything ZIP export before clearing browser storage or moving between browser profiles. To remove browser-only data, use your browser's site-data controls. To remove portable data, delete the relevant BLACKBOX files from the connected folder after making any backup you need. Clearing browser site data does not erase files on your USB drive.
Third-party lyrics requests
When you explicitly use GET LYRICS, track metadata is sent to LRCLIB. This is a request to a third party, not a cookie. See the Privacy Notice and LRCLIB API documentation.
