BLACKBOX is offered as a free local music player and downloadable project. There are no accounts, subscriptions, purchases or shipped goods in this build. You are responsible for the music files you choose and for using them lawfully.
1. Publisher and contact
The website and player are published under the public project name BLACKBOX Studio and operated from India. BLACKBOX Studio is an independent project identity and is not represented as a registered company or other legal entity. Contact: blackboxstudiofr@proton.me.
2. What the service provides
The website provides information, a browser-accessible local music player and a free Windows download. The player reads supported audio files from folders you select. It does not provide a hosted music catalogue or online streaming service. Features depend on your browser, Windows version, audio codecs, selected files and permissions.
3. Free access and transactions
The site and application are offered without a charge in this release. There is no checkout, paid subscription, donation checkout, in-app purchase, physical product, shipping service or paid reservation. Because no product or paid service is sold through this site, no refund, return or shipping policy is offered for this release. These terms do not remove any consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
If BLACKBOX later introduces payments, donations tied to benefits, subscriptions or physical goods, the relevant commercial and consumer terms must be added before those features launch.
4. Permission to use the project
The BLACKBOX download is offered free for personal use. For original project material that BLACKBOX Studio is entitled to license, you may download and run an unmodified copy for that purpose. No open-source licence or general right to commercially exploit, resell, repackage or publish modified copies is granted by this notice.
Third-party components, if any, remain subject to their own rights and licence terms. Those terms take priority where they grant permissions or impose obligations that differ from this section. Do not remove required notices, falsely claim authorship or affiliation, or use material in a way that infringes another person's rights.
5. Your music and your responsibilities
You are responsible for having the rights or permission needed to access, copy, store, convert or play the music files you choose. BLACKBOX does not grant rights to copyrighted recordings or lyrics. Do not use the application to infringe copyright, bypass access controls or distribute files unlawfully.
When using external tools described in the in-app Guide, follow the relevant service terms, copyright rules and the permissions attached to the material. A public Spotify playlist does not itself grant permission to download the recordings it lists.
6. Honest feature limitations
Crossfade is browser-scheduled and best-effort, not sample-accurate gapless playback. Level matching is an estimate and is not calibrated LUFS mastering. Stereo width is not Dolby Atmos or object-based surround sound. Output-device routing and some media controls depend on browser support. A browser cannot guarantee that a mini-player window will stay always on top. Lyrics lookup is optional and depends on LRCLIB's service and matching data.
7. Availability, updates and third parties
We may update, replace or withdraw website or application files. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, ongoing support or compatibility with every device or audio format. The site may link to third-party services and documentation; those services are governed by their own terms and privacy notices. BLACKBOX Studio does not control third-party availability or content.
8. Security and prohibited conduct
Do not attempt to compromise the website, upload malicious files through any future interface, interfere with other visitors, misuse third-party services or misrepresent the source of the project. This release has no user upload form, account or public administration interface.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The project is provided on an “as available” basis, subject to any warranties or consumer protections that applicable law requires. To the extent permitted by law, BLACKBOX Studio does not warrant that every audio file, browser, codec, device or storage configuration will work without interruption or error. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms and your use of the website and project are governed by the laws of India, without excluding any mandatory consumer-protection or other legal rights that apply to you. Subject to those mandatory rights and rules, disputes may be brought before the courts or tribunals of competent jurisdiction in India. Nothing in this section prevents a person from bringing a claim before a forum that has mandatory jurisdiction under applicable law.
